THE GOOD
As Mother Moon exits the luxurious, rich sign of Taurus and enters the energizing, intellectual sign of Gemini, some genuine doorways into the mental and cognitive realms will open up for everybody. Indeed, this yang, diurnal domicile of Mercury, the God of speech and travel, is all about opening doorways.
New perspectives, shifts in alignment, and unique yet productive ways of viewing and conceptualizing the world around you will greatly impact your life. It helps that the Lord of this sign - Mercury - forms a whole-sign Ptolemaic aspect to the Moon: the work done around your thought patterns and modes of communication will take you far.
Jupiter and Saturn both provide great support by the way of trines. Saturn’s trine will provide a dose of realism and groundedness that is sorely needed during most Gemini periods. This will keep you from getting lost in the clouds as you go exploring the vast world of thought and imagination. Jupiter will provide you with optimism and enthusiasm that ensure that you thoughts and intentions truly take flight. This is an excellent time to journal and consider taking new perspectives on things.
THE BAD
The greatest challenge here comes from the conjunction Moon forms to Mars, God of war. This is a very challenging aspect, known in air signs such as Gemini to overstimulate the nervous system, create tension in the body, and cause a lot of mental exhaustion from overthinking and over-analysis. Your mind could keep spinning and racing during this period without any end to it. I would recommend leaning more heavily into a meditation practice in order to detach from the constant stream of thoughts.
The Sun also forms a square to the Moon during this period. This is the opposite of the celestial, marital bliss we experienced with the sextile. Now the divine lovers are quarreling, and as a result the base-line levels of flow and harmony in the world greatly diminish. Don’t expect your plans to come to fruition very easily. Expect obstacles, delays, and roadblocks to become commonplace. Just be patient with it - before you know it the Moon will turn into the Moon in Cancer and there will be a trine.
THE WYRD
The PGM (Greek magical papyri) assigns Gemini as the sign best used for winning favor. The glib, chatty, charming nature of the Moon in Gemini can be very persuasive indeed. Have fun talking other people into giving you what you want!
You could do a solid Jupiter ritual Thursday evening. Wait until the Sunset hour after the Moon has entered Gemini and begins applying to the trine to Jupiter. Ask for guidance on things that you aren’t seeing that could help you expand. What ways can you shift your mindset? What has your mind not taken notice of that could actually help you settle into the level of abundance and wisdom you desire?
Remember, everything that I tell you here needs to be indexed to your natal chart, especially the house placement of the Moon, any major transits and the time lords in your life. A strong period for one person may be more challenging for another. I am currently taking on new clients for readings, and I would be very happy to walk you through your own chart and astrological weather - book a session with me here!
Astrological Signatures
Entry: Thursday the 18th at 7:47pm EDT / 11:47pm UTC.
Departure: Sunday March 21st at 8:17am EDT / 12:17pm UTC.
Moon in Gemini: Peregrine - the Moon is in a foreign place without much support. Gemini is very heady and intellectually stimulating. Conversation, connection with other people, trying to get a million things done, glibness. This placement can create anxiety and nervous tension, easy to get overwhelmed.
Triplicity and Quadruplicity: Bicorporeal Air. Bicorporeality indicates activities and moods which are a mean between the extremes of tropicality (cardinality) and fixedness, not as erratic and changing as the former, but not as solid and steady as the latter. The air element promotes mental stimulation and any activities which involve communication and language, and air Moons tend to be very chatty and conversational, preferring discussion and the medium of language to anything else.
Moon’s ruler: Inferior Bicorporeal Square to Mercury in Pisces. There is a moderate amount of support for grounding the Moon’s significations into reality. She will have protection from some of the heavier sides of the Moon-Mars conjunction.
Relationship to the Sun: Inferior Bicorporeal Square to the Sun in Pisces. There will be great tension and challenges between your own desires and intentions and what your environment and circumstances support. Things will not work out very easily.
Aspects
Inferior Bicorporeal Square to Venus in Pisces: Interpersonal harmony is very strained. You will find difficulties relating and connecting to other people.
Conjunction to Mars in Gemini. This will create a desire for quick change and provide you with initiative. But generally that initiative is being fueled by intense frustration with one’s own life and current circumstances, which can create a lot of inner suffering and turmoul. The airy nature of this conjunction can create a lot of mental disturbance and anxiety.
Inferior Air Trine to Jupiter in Aquarius. The square from the last period has relaxed into a trine. Help and support from authority figures. This shows up especially through conversation and dialogue due to the airy nature of the trine. Emotional buoyancy, good luck, and a potential for financial opportunities to develop.
Inferior Air Trine to Saturn in Aquarius. The square from the last period has relaxed into a trine. Hard lessons come through which effectively push people closer towards maturity and wisdom. Difficult experiences that teach you something profound and ultimately make you thankful for them. Slightly greater propensity for rumination and thought-loops, due to the airy nature of the trine.
